After a long and fruitless fight with the Contao CMS, I reverted back to a much more comfortable Blog-Engine everybody knows: WordPress. That may seem a bit of an over reaction, but I just love the WP backoffice and after all, Kristina also needs to feel comfortable there.
I also found WPML, which converts WP into a full-scale multilingual CMS. All the tricks you will probably not notice unless you start looking for them, are handled by this superb plugin: different language versions od WP-pages referenced across two domains while integrating it all into a smooth experience in the backoffice makes this a great experience for admins, authors, readers and search engines.
The basic image and gallery functions of WP are extended into a modern and smooth user-experience by Fancybox for WP. The SI CAPTCHA Anti-Spam plugin will hopefully keep the bots registering an account to a minimum, what anti-spam solution I will otp for, I don’t know yet.
